Kibar Group, one of Turkey’s leading firms in the production of aluminium, steel and metals, in a bid to expand into Kazakhstan has held talks with Kazakh officials, searching for investment opportunities in the field of metallurgy in the country.

Mr Ali Kibar board chairman of the group went to Astana last week where he met with Kazakh Industry and Trade Minister Mr Aset O Issekeshev to discuss the company’s plan to invest in the country’s metallurgy sector.

Mr Issekeshev noting that his country welcomes all offers of cooperation from foreign companies stated that the necessary permission will be granted to enable the investment proposed by the Kibar Group to proceed without any difficulties.

He said that metallurgy is one of the leading sectors of the country. He added that “we will extend support to every project, especially in this sector.”

Mr Kibar said that they want to establish plants in Kazakhstan. They will make a decision on the investment after evaluating all details of possible cooperation. The Kibar Group, which operates in metals, iron and steel, automotives and food industries, owns plants with an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons of aluminium.
