Business Recorder cited Mr Rana Mehmood ul Hassan chairman of standing committee port and shipping as saying that in order to complete the Gwadar Port project, government should cancel the agreement with the Port of Singapore Authority.

He said that Port of Singapore Authority did not do the required investment in Gwadar according to the agreement and has installed a single 25 year old crane over there.

Mr Ul Hassan said that Port of Singapore Authority had to do the investment of at least USD 2 billion. Now the government should cancel the agreement with Port of Singapore Authority and sign new agreements with good reputable companies of UAE and Saudi Arabia.

He said that fraud of billions of rupees has been done in the allotment of land at Gwadar. All the trailers and ships available to Shipping Corporation are very old and cannot be used for service. So, the suggestion has been given that all the unused and old trawlers and ships should be sold out.
