The 13-8PH alloy is a martensitic, precipitation hardening (maraging) stainless steel

13-8PH Maraging Stainless Steel Alloy Industry Standard
The 13-8PH alloy complies with the AMS 6514 industry standard and is also known as UNS K44220.

Applications of 13-8PH Maraging Stainless Steel Alloy
The 13-8PH alloy is use for a wide range of applications including:
Aircraft landing gear
Aircraft Structural sections
Aircraft valves and shafts
Components in the petrochemical and nuclear industries

Heat Treatment of 13-8PH Maraging Stainless Steel Alloy
Condition A
Soak at 927° (1700℉) and cool below 16° (60℉) so that material is completely transformed to martensite. Normally, one hour hold at temperature is suggested.
H950, H1000, H1050, H1100, and H1150
Soak solution treated material for 4 hours at specified temperature, air cool.
