Bluejay Mining said that it planned to this year prepare a sample for shipment from its Dundas ilmenite project in Greenland. The bulk smelter sample would be shipped to Rio Tinto's Sorel-Tracy plant in Quebec, Canada. The company said it would also work this year on construction of a 2,400 tonne per week run-of-mine demonstration plant, for the processing of ilmenite-bearing sand sample into a heavy mineral concentrate.

Mr Roderick McIllree chief executive of Bluejay Mining said that 'I am pleased to report an update on our very extensive 2019 work programme, which will provide a solid foundation for the continued development of Dundas during this field season. This work programme will enable us to satisfy our agreement with Rio Tinto by delivering 5,000 tonnes of ilmenite-bearing sands to a potential major customer.'
