See News reported that Bosnian power utility Elektroprivreda BiH has signed a deal with Croatia's ABB d.o.o. Zagreb for the construction of a 110/30 kV substation and a 30 kV cable and fiber optic network for the Podvelezje wind farm. The cable and fiber optic network will connect the wind turbines to the 110/30 kV substation and transmit the electricity produced by Podvelezje into the 110 kV network.

The contract, to be financed with a loan from German development bank KfW, is valued at a total of 4.098 million euro (USD 4.9 million). The deadline for the implementation of the contract is 20 months.

EPBiH said that the contract signed with ABB signals that significant progress has been made towards the construction of Podvelezje.

In January last year, EPBiH said that the construction works on Podvelezje wind farm, with planned annual production of 120 GWh, will be divided into four lots, with the deadline for its commissioning set at December 31, 2018.

The park, to be located in Mostar, will consist of 15 wind turbines.

The municipality of Mostar is located in the Federation, one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
