Codelco will temporarily suspend some of its projects as part of the measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. The detention will strengthen the health security of the divisions, since the densities of project endowments will be reduced to a minimum and air and land transfers will be reduced, since an important part of the workers who work in the projects come from different regions of the country. The suspension will be carried out gradually starting today and will last for 15 days. Specifically, it deals with the construction of the remaining works of the Chuquicamata Underground Mine Project, the early works of Rajo Inca and the assembly works of Traspaso Andina. In all these projects, a limited staff will be maintained to safeguard the security of the facilities and equipment.

This measure has no impact on the production of the respective divisions - which maintain operational continuity with the largest sanitary safeguards - but favors the decrease in the number of people circulating in each workplace.

Codelco will continue evaluating the implementation of new measures that adequately protect the health of all workers and, thereby, maintain operational continuity.
