French Faurecia plant in Andhra Pradesh, India

Times of India reported that in yet another big boost for the automobile manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh, French automotive firm Faurecia announced setting up of a new automobile interiors plant in Ammavarupalli inside the KIA Motors supplier park at Anantapur district.

Faurecia, which carried out the ground-breaking ceremony on Friday, will be investing Rs 50 crore in the new 15,000-sqm site that will lead to generation of around 400 jobs. The Faurecia plant is scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2019 and will have a daily production of above 1,000 instrument panels for Hyundai Mobis and Kia Motors.

South Korean auto maker Kia Motors Corporation is investing over $1 billion to set up its new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh that will be spread over 23 million sft and will have a capacity to produce 3 lakh cars annually and employ around 3,000 people.
