Busan Port Authority visited Hanjin Heavy Industries’ Youngdo Shipyard and participated in its steel cutting ceremony held to celebrate manufacturing of the transfer cranes for the Busan New Port West Container Terminal Phase 2-5 (first part). The project aims to manufacture major unloading equipment domestically for the West Container Terminal Project Phase 2-5, promoting the domestic heavy industries and contributing to the shared growth between large and small companies. With the steel cutting ceremony, Hanjin Heavy Industries declared the era of transfer crane localization.

With the 115.5 billion won project, the Hanjin Heavy Industries will manufacture 34 transfer cranes by 2021 and install them after a test period at the West Container Terminal 2-5 area by 2022.

Moreover, 80% of the materials will be supplied by domestic SMEs, contributing to the shared growth and ecosystem of the industry.
