Tribun News reported that PGN is increasingly aggressive in building national natural gas infrastructure to increase utilization of national gas production. In 2018, gas pipeline infrastructure increased from 2456 kilometer to more than 9909 kilometer. That amount is equivalent to 95% of the national downstream natural gas pipeline.

Mr Rachmat Hutama, PGN Corporate Secretary, said that currently natural gas is still an alternative energy source that can help drive domestic competitiveness. At present the industry is required to be more efficient in using fuel. Natural gas is one of the energies that can provide efficiency and is the cleanest and safest to use compared to other fossil fuels.

From this infrastructure, PGN has distributed natural gas to 1,739 customers in the manufacturing and power plants, 1,984 commercial customers such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and Small and Medium Enterprises and 177,710 household customers.

Mr Hutama said that "PGN's natural gas customers are spread in various regions ranging from North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, South Sumatra, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, East Java, North Kalimantan and Sorong, West Papua."

Recently, most PGN drained gas to CV Salsabila, a company engaged in the mountain rock processing sector to become lime in Majalengka, Cirebon, West Java.
