Sacyr Concessions has successfully secured EUR 58 million in financing for the Arica Airport in Chile expansion work, managed by Sociedad Concesionaria Aeropuerto de Arica for a term of 15 years. The transaction, entered into with the Banco Estado de Chile, is further recognition by the Chilean financial system of the company's experience in the country and the group's positive business development. The funds will be allocated to the improvement of the current terminal and its expansion from 5,352 square meters to 11,592 square meters. It is expected that this will allow the facility to cater for approximately 1,145,000 passengers annually.

The project, the estimated investment of which is some EUR 73 million, also involves the installation of five new departure gates, replacing the existing two gates, increasing the parking capacity from four to seven aircraft, and the expansion of vehicle access out of the airport and pedestrian access to the interior, thus facilitating movements around the site. Furthermore, new aeronautical facilities will be built, such as a control tower, an administrative building, a logistics building, a rescue and fire-fighting service building and its platform, an aeronautical electric substation, air traffic services reporting office building, access control points and a ground fuel facility, among other work.
