Royal Dutch Shell Plc teamed up with energy company Eneco and builder Van Oord as they vie to build two wind farms of a combined 750 MW capacity in the Dutch part of the North Sea. The tender for the power plants is open until March 14 for bids that require no subsidies on electricity prices.

This latest tender is the fourth of five being held by the Dutch government in a bid to add 7,000 MW of offshore wind power by 2030 as the nation "seeks to turn around a track record as one of the most polluting countries in Europe."

A Shell and Eneco consortium won the second of the tenders in 2016 for a subsidy of EUR0.0545 (USD 0.0615) per kilowatt hour.
