German municipal utilities group Trianel has purchased 10.35 MW of turbines that are part of a larger wind farm in Lower Saxony from developer Ebert Renewable Energy group. Trianel Erneuerbare Energien GmbH & Co KG announced the acquisition of the three turbines on Wednesday without providing the value of the investment. The so-called Emmerthal wind farm consists of eight V136-3.45 turbines by Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems. Located in the district of Hameln-Pyrmont, the machines have been generating electricity since end-2018.

The three turbines will become part of TEE’s Stadtwerke portfolio. The company expects those machines to produce around 21 million kWh of power annually.

TEE is an association of Trianel GmbH and 37 regional utilities that was formed to invest in renewable energy. The partnership has a wind and solar portfolio of around 200 MW, including the Emmerthal turbines.
