7 Miners Killed in Digri Coal Field Blast in Pakistan

A gas explosion occurred in a mine in the Digri coalfield, about 60 km from Quetta in Pakistan, killing seven employees working in the mine and injuring three others. The powerful explosion occurred when more than a dozen miners were working deep inside the mine of a private company. During this time, there was an explosion and 7 employees were buried in it. Explosion was caused by methane gas inside the mine.

During the mine explosion, the miners were digging coal, which closed the mouth of the mine, due to which there was a problem in rescue and relief works. Minwerkers Federation leaders said that the mine caught fire after the explosion. As a result, employees working inside the mine were burned. Rescuers and engineers from the Chief Inspector Directorate reached the spot and conducted a rescue operation.
