Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan comments on coal shortage in Almaty region

Aki Press reported that Almaty region’s authorities must keep the question on providing population with the coal under the control. Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev denied the reports that deficit of coal in the region is due to its active sale abroad.

Mr Bozumbayev said that 16,000 tonnes of coal were sent to Almaty city and the Almaty region.

Mr Bozumayev added that "There are no problems with the railroad serviced and no problems with coal companies, either. Local authorities must keep this issue under control. I talked with the governors the last and this week."

The reports about coal shortage in the Almaty region first appeared in social media.
