Benton Park School has received formal planning permission approval for its GBP 28.5 million new school building to proceed. Commissioned by Leeds City Council, the contract to build the new school was awarded to BAM Construction via the City Council’s LEP process, against strong competition. BAM is now on site with preliminary works and with full covid-19 protocols in force. The three-storey design includes a sheltered courtyard and will be built on the existing playing fields while the school remains fully operational throughout. Once the school transfers into their new building, the existing buildings will be demolished to make way for a full size 3G pitch which will be available for community use.

The school anticipates opening in the autumn term, 2021.
