Indonesia Shortlist 26 Firms for Lombok International Airport

Indonesian State Owned Enterprises responsible for the management of airports Angkasa Pura Airports is announced that a total of 26 global and national companies have passed the prequalification process for the selection of strategic partners for the management and development of Lombok International Airport. 26 companies include Royal Schiphol, Incheon Airport, Changi Airport, GMR Airport, Malaysia Airport BHD, Munich Airport, Vinci Airport, Fraport, Egis International, Titan Global Group, China Construction, Bechtel Enterprise, Scott Brownrigg, Lotte E&C, CU Phosco, Serco, Itochu Corporation, DAA International, AENA Internacional, AERTEC Solutions, ADP International, Toyota Tsusho, Mitsubishi, ASTRA Infra, Adhi Karya and Waskita Karya.

The development and management of Lombok International Airport covers the provision and operation of Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer for an estimated period of 30 years. The estimated value of this project is IDR 10.3 trillion with a return on investment in cooperation carried out through a payment mechanism by service users in the form of tariffs in accordance with statutory provisions.

Strategic development and management cooperation is Angkasa Pura Airports' effort to make Lombok International Airport world-class through improving facilities and service quality and developing the concept of an airport city which is expected to increase revenue from non-aeronautical businesses.

The next stage after the aanwijzing process is to prepare qualification documents by potential partners (5-9 October 2020), answers to clarification questions (19 October 2020), submission of clarification documents (15 December 2020), clarification of qualification documents sent (10-15 January 2021), evaluation of qualification documents (16 December-28 January 2021) and announcement of the pre-qualification results (29 January 2021).

Angkasa Pura Airports is currently developing Lombok International Airport. This development was carried out to support the plans for the 2021 MotoGP in Mandalika. The development is carried out by extending the runway from the previous 2,750 meters to 3,330 meters and the terminal expansion to 40 thousand square meters which can accommodate up to 7 million passengers per year from the previous capacity which was only able to accommodate 3.25 million passengers per year. Until the 33rd week (29 September - 4 October 2020), the progress of the Lombok International Airport development project has reached 33.45 percent. The completion of this development work is targeted by February 2021.
