Patna Airport's new terminal building construction to begin from April next year - Report

webindia123.com reported that the construction work of a new terminal building of local Jai Prakash Naraian International Airport would commence from April next year.According to a release issued by Airports Authority of India, the construction of a new state of the art terminal building of Patna Airport would begin from April next year. The new terminal buiding with the capacity of 45 lakh passengers would be constructed at the cost of INR 800 crore. The release said that Patna Airport was initially designed for the load of 7 lakh passengers annually but the airport's capacity was increased to 21.10 lakh during 2016-17 in view significant growth in the number of passengers.

According to the release, the construction of a new terminal building with the capacity of 50 lakh passengers at Bihta near Patna would commence from September next year. The land would be available for the purpose by December this year. A sum of Rs 800 crore would be spent on the construction. AAI has also decided to provide round the clock air service at Patna Airport during summer. The air passengers would be able to fly from the airport from 10 p.m. to 6 am..
