Railways Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal, has said that the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) is aiming at an annual turnover of INR 25,000 crore in the next five years. He said "CONCOR recorded a turnover of INR 6,000 crore last year. It aims to take it to INR 25,000 crore in the next five years.”

He was speaking at the launch of the maiden container transport of CONCOR (which comes under the Ministry of Railways) through coastal shipping, which was flagged off by the Shipping Minister, Mr Nitin Gadkari, last week, in the presence of CONCOR CMD, Mr V. Kalyana Rama, and others.

Collaboration with the Shipping and Highways Ministries facilitated this coastal movement, which will help bring down the logistics cost in the country and, thereby, contribute to economic growth.
