IAA Port News correspondent cites Kirill Neuymin, Head of Directory, PAO Gazprom, as saying at the roundtable meeting “Small scale lNG – a new breakthrough for natural gas” held in the framework of the 9th St Petersburg International Gas Forum, Gazprom is set to build three small plants of liquefaction of natural gas in different sea basins.

According to the speaker, three small scale LNG projects are at different levels of development. Those projects will cover water bodies around us: the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea with the entry to the Mediterranean Sea and the Sea platform Japan with the entry to the Pacific routes. The Baltic Sea project is under implementation.

Kirill Neuymin said that “The Black Sea project is undergoing pre-investment feasibility study. We hope for a positive decision on the project since the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea is a very promising region in terms of small scale LNG consumption. The Vladivostok project is also undergoing pre-investment feasibility study. We see enormous prospects in the Chinese market.”
