Russia’s loading of export cargo bound for domestic ports up by 5.4pct in 6M’18

Russian Railways said that loading of Russia’s export cargo bound for domestic ports grew by 5.4%, YoY, to 153.9 million tonnes in January-June 2018. In particular, coal loading grew by 3/5%, ferrous metal – by 9.7%, fertilizers – by 10%, grain – by 77.6%, paper – by 8.7%, timber – by 18%. Coal accounts for 46.2% of exports, oil – for 26.3%, ferrous metal – for 9%, fertilizers – for 6.8%, grain – for 4%.

In the reporting period, loading of export cargo to the ports of the North-West Region totaled 65.5 million tonnes (+8.7%, YoY), to the port of the Southern Region - 38.2 million tonnes (-0.8%), to the ports of the Far East Region – 50.1 million tonnes (+6.2%).
