Russian seaports throughput up by grew by 2.4% YoY in Jan-April 2019

Press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports said that in January-April 2019, seaports of Russia handled 269.3 million tonnes of cargo (up 2.4%, YoY). Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 117.4 million tonnes (-4.4%) including 54.2 million tonnes of coal (+10.5%), 10.4 million tonnes of grain (-43.1%), 18.5 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+7.6%), 9.9 million tonnes of ferrous metal (-8.3%), 5.8 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (-3.3%), 2.5 million tonnes of ore (+24.5%), 1.7 million tonnes of timber (-3.4%).

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 151.9 million tonnes (+8.4%) including 89.3 million tonnes of crude oil (+7.8%), 49.2 million tonnes of oil products (+1.6%) and 11.2 million tonnes liquefied gas (up 1.6 times).

Exports totaled 211.2 (+4.3%), imports - 12.2 million tonnes (+2.2%), transit – 21.4 million tonnes (+0.8%), coastal trade cargo – 24.5 million tonnes (-10.5%).

Operators of seaports in the Arctic Basin handled 34.7 million tonnes, up 23.7%, YoY, including 24.7 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+30.7%) and 10.0 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+9.4%). The port of Murmansk handled 21.1 million tonnes (+7.1%), Sabetta - 9.0 million tonnes (up 2.2 times), Varandey - 2.4 million tonnes (+3.0%).

Operators of seaports in the Baltic Basin handled 85.1 million tonnes (+4.1%) including 35.8 million tonnes of dry cargo (+2.5%) and 49.2 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+5.3%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 35.6 million tonnes (+7.9%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 19.7 million tonnes (+1.9%), Primorsk - 18.9 million tonnes (+4.7%), Vysotsk - 6.6 million tonnes (+7.3%).

Operators of seaports in the Azov-Black Sea Basin handled 79.3 million tonnes (-10.5%) including 28.7 million tonnes of dry cargo (-27.1%) and 50.5 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+2.9%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 50.5 million tonnes (-3.5%), Tuapse - 7.3 million tonnes (-18.3%), Rostov-on-Don - 4.6 million tonnes (-11.2%), Kavkaz - 4.1 million tonnes (-43.8%), Taman - 5.7 million tonnes (+23.9%), Temryuk - 1.6 million tonnes (+43.5%).

Operators of seaports in the Caspian Basin handled 2.2 million tonnes (+31.1%) including 0.8 million tonnes of dry cargo (-15.6%) and 1.4 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (up 2.0 times). The port of Makhachkala handled 1.4 million tonnes (up 1.5 times), Astrakhan - 0.7 million tonnes (+4.5%).

Operators of seaports in the Far East Basin handled 68.0 million tonnes (+8.1%) including 42.0 million tonnes of dry cargo (+9.4%) and 26.0 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+5.9%). Port Vostochny handled 24.0 million tonnes (+4.9%), Vanino - 11.0 million tonnes (+12.7%), Nakhodka - 8.5 million tonnes (+6.4%), Vladivostok - 7.2 million tonnes (+10.1%), De-Kastri - 4.8 million tonnes (+24.6%), Posiet - 2.6 million tonnes (+11.2%), Prigorodnoye - 5.7 million tonnes (-7.8%).
