Reuters reported that copper prices on the London Metal Exchange fell on Tuesday, on track for a third straight decline, amid a lack of news on steps to settle a prolonged trade dispute between the United States and China. Three month copper on the London Metal Exchange fell 0.3% to USD 5,873 a tonne by 0205 GMT, while the most-traded copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange declined 0.4% to 46,230 yuan (USD 6,718.89) a tonne.

Representatives from the two countries were expected to resume talks this week, but nothing has been released about whether the talks happened or whether progress has been made in resolving the year-long dispute that has hurt demand for metals.
