The packaging manufacturer Conseal in Lebring-St. Margarethen (district Leibnitz) had to file for bankruptcy. KSV, Creditreform and AKV reported. Affected are 32 employees. The debt amounts to 5.24 million euros. According to creditors, the company, which produces aluminum packaging films and composite materials for the pharmaceutical and food industries, is constantly losing money. The three shareholders Consot Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft (61%), Italcoat (29%) and Lars Schröpfer (10%) have in the past repeatedly provided grants to cover these losses.

But even this year, the sales are behind the plans and are not enough to cover the costs or even to make a profit. As one of several reasons commodity prices especially for aluminum are mentioned, which are subject to strong fluctuations. The higher costs can only be partially passed on to the customers.
