Australian mineral exploration firm Lindian Resources Limited the projected resource size for its project at the Bouba Plateaux in Guinea, revealing that the Gaoul Project there is expected to yield 102 million tons of 49.5 percent alumina, with 84 million metric tons of high-grade 51.2 percent alumina. The operation also has the advantage of being positioned near existing bauxite operations and close to the necessary infrastructure to bring the alumina-rich ore to market in short order. Additionally, the Guinean government has been eager to market its bauxite ore reserves and promised mining operations already underway that it would build out the necessary infrastructure to expedite it.

Lindian’s independent geological expert Mark Gifford elaborated upon the importance of the find in a related press release.

Based in Perth, Lindian owns several mining licenses for gold in two outcroppings in Tanzania in addition to the tenements granted for the Lushoto Bauxite Project in 2018.
