Atlantic Gold announced that first assays from phase three drilling at the Fifteen Mile Stream gold property about 60 km northeast of Atlantic Gold’s Torquoy mill are in. The latest highlights include 14 metres of 1.79 g/t gold from 77 metres; 17 metres of 1.12 g/t from 80 metres; 4 metres of 7.27 g/t from 19 metres (including 1 metre of 23.4g/t); and 12 metres of 1.44 g/t from 194 metres.

The Fifteen Mile Stream deposit has measured and indicted resources of 10.6 million tonnes at 1.33 g/t gold (452,000 contained oz.) at a 0.35 g/t cut-off grade. The inferred resource is 6.6 million tonnes at 1.12 g/t gold (240,000 contained oz.)

Atlantic Gold said that the mineralization occurs within argillites, greywackes and bedding-parallel quartz veins across the hinge zone and limbs of the Fifteen Mile Stream anticline. The highest grades found so far occur in the hinge zone. Free gold is frequently seen in association with pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite.
