Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction said that it concluded a contract with PT PLN, an Indonesian power company to supply facilities for Palu 3 thermal power plant. The contract is worth about KRW 120 billion. The Palu 3 power plant will be built in the Sindhu area of Sulawesi Island, about 2,500 kilometers northeast of the Indonesian capital Jakarta. Total power generation capacity is 110MW. Under the project, Doosan Heavy will supply key equipment such as Circulating Fluidized-Bed boilers and turbines to meet the Indonesian government's stricter environmental regulations and complete construction by 2023.

Unlike conventional coal-fired boilers, the CFB boiler is using an eco-friendly technology that reduces emissions of pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides by completely burning coal through continuous circulation, and low-quality coal can also be completely burned, thereby reducing fuel costs.

Mr Mok Jin-won, head of Doosan Heavy Industries' Power Service BG said that "Doosan Heavy Industries is recognized for its technological prowess in Indonesia's power generation market by signing a 1.6 trillion won contract earlier this year to supply JAWA's 9-10 thermal power plants, including winning an order for the Grati Combined Thermal Power Plant conversion project in 2016.”
