Coal Scam Case - Supreme Court reserves judgment on coal ban case in Meghalaya

The Northeast Today reported that the Supreme Court recently concluded the hearing on the petitions which relates to the ban of coal mining in Meghalaya. The Supreme Court has, however, reserved the judgment which is likely to be passed after the summer vacation in July. It may be mentioned that the Apex Court is hearing on a total number of five petitions on the coal ban.

Besides the main petition of Lber Laloo vs Dima Hasao Student Union, the other petitions which the court had heard included that of the State Co-Ordination Committee of Coal Owners, Miners and Dealers Forum, Hima Nongstion and GHADC.

Meanwhile, the Apex Court is likely to pass an order for the transportation of the extracted coal on Friday.
