GatewayRail Freight starts rail operations at rail linked logistics park in Haryana

GatewayRail Freight Limited, a leading private container train operator and a subsidiary of Gateway Distriparks Limited, has commissioned rail operations at its third Rail Linked Logistics Park at Faridabad in Haryana.

After receiving all the regulatory approvals, GatewayRail operated the first freight train service to the newly commissioned rail terminal on August 1st 2014.

GatewayRail provides storage, warehousing and Customs clearance service for containerised international and domestic cargo through its inland container depots based at Garhi Harsaru (Gurgaon, Haryana), Sanehwal (Ludhiana, Punjab) and Faridabad (Haryana). It also operates a private freight terminal at Kalamboli in Navi Mumbai. It offers rail and road transportation solutions with own fleet of 21 trains and over 250 tractor-trailers.

The new international cargo terminal at Faridabad will cater to the needs of ex-im and domestic clientele based in Delhi, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The ex-im trade based in Delhi cluster, Mathura, Agra, Sahibabad, Gaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Baddi and Haridwar has been eagerly awaiting the inauguration of train services from the Faridabad terminal.

Mr Prem Kishan Gupta, CMD of GatewayRail Freight Limited, said that \"This is the third offering of GatewayRail to the manufacturing and trading community of North India. We will provide storage, Customs clearance and rail transportation services for international cargo between NCR and the west coast maritime ports of JN Port, Mundra and Pipavav.”

He said that “In line with our principle of providing wholesome service to the trade, we will offer road transportation for door pick-up and delivery of cargo. We will also offer special consolidation services to the 3PL freight forwarders who provide consolidation service to the exporters and importers of North India. We have built a separate warehouse for consolidation business and will also provide value-added services like Garment on Hangers and refrigerated cargo transportation services.\"

He added that \"We sincerely thank the manufacturing and trading community, shipping lines, 3PL freight forwarders and Custom House Agents of North India and look forward to have their continued support to the company in its endeavour to provide world class logistics service for containerised cargo.\"

Mr Gupta also thanked the Railways and Customs for their valuable support.
