Indian industrial production in April improves MoM- IIP

India's industrial production grew 4.9% in April, as compared with 4.4% in March. Central Statistics Office of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation's Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production (IIP) with base 2011-12 for the month of April 2018 stood at 123.0, which is 4.9 percent higher as compared to the level in the month of April 2017. The cumulative growth for the period April-March 2017-18 over the corresponding period of the previous year stands at 4.3 percent. The Indices of Industrial Production for the Mining, Manufacturing and Electricity sectors for the month of April 2018 stand at 103.8, 123.4 and 153.7 respectively, with the corresponding growth rates of 5.1 percent, 5.2 percent and 2.1 percent as compared to April 2017
