Kazakhstan issues January to February 2011 production results

According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency of Statistics, in January to February this year Kazakhstan registered increase of 40%YoY in its crude steel production and a 26.3%YoY growth in its production of flat rolled steel, rising to 792,380 tonnes and 511,578 tonnes respectively.

Kazakhstan tinplate production for the first two months of this year amounted to 36,479 tonnes up by 26.7%YoY while its galvanized steel output came to 102,200 tonnes up by 22.6%YoY.

In January to February, Kazakhstan output of ferroalloys went down by 2.3%YoY to 273,717 tonnes, its sintered and non-sintered iron ore output increased by 0.8%YoY to 3.728 million tonnes and its iron ore pellet production went up by 1.4% YoY to 1.432 million tonnes.

The country coal output in January to February this year increased by 17.3%YoY to 21.11 million tonnes while its coke output went up 5.4%YoY to 454,500 tonnes.
