The Chronicle Herald reported that as many as 30 full-time jobs will be created at the RKO Steel facility in Dartmouth in Canada, due to an infusion of CAD 675,000 in federal money. The company is looking to increase its production of components for the Arctic/Offshore Patrol Ships Program. RKO vice-president Stewart Clark said “This investment from ACOA helps RKO to continue advancing with innovative manufacturing as we head into the Smart Manufacturing revolution, and allows us to continually grow our staff organically and bring on more of our great Nova Scotia workers.’

RKO fabricates and erects structural steel and various metals for the oil and gas sectors, as well as the construction and shipbuilding industries in Canada, the Eastern US and Europe. It currently employs 119 people.
