Russia issues import and export data for January

According to the data released by the Russian Federation\'s Federal Customs Service, in January this year Russia exported about 2.265 million tonnes of ferrous metals, registering decreased of 19.7%YoY. Of this volume, 2.107 million tonnes were delivered to non -CIS countries down by 20%YoY and 157,800 tonnes were supplied to CIS countries down by 17.6%YoY.

Russia exports of semi finished steel products declined in January of the current year by 39% to 731,700 tonnes, its exports of ferroalloys decreased by 27.7%YoY to 42,000 tonnes, its flat rolled steel product exports dropped by 38.3%YoY to 479,400 tonnes while its exports of pig iron increased by 57.7%YoY to 257,600 tonnes.

In January this year, Russia also registered a decrease of 9.3%YoY in its iron ore and iron ore concentrate exports to 1.202 million tonnes and a drop of 42%YoY in its coke and semi-coke exports to 77,800 tonnes. On the other hand, in the first month of the current year, Russia ferrous metal imports increased by 8%YoY to 289,500 tonnes of which 108,600 tonnes were imported from non-CIS countries up by 54.3%YoY while 180,900 tonnes were supplied from CIS countries down 8.6%YoY.

Russia steel pipe imports in January this year rose by 281.5% to 175,500 tonnes of which 74,200 tonnes were imported from non-CIS countries up by 479.7%YoY while 101,300 tonnes were supplied from CIS countries up by 205%YoY.
