Baosteel becomes largest steel supplier to Maersk

It is reported that Baosteel has shipped more than 9,000 tonnes of steel per monthly on average in the first quarter of 2008 to Qingdao and Dongguan containers mills of the world largest shipping group Maersk, suggesting annual supplies to reach 100,000 tonnes making it the largest steel supplier for Maersk.

As per report in accordance with the yearly supply contract, Baosteel will provide 80,000 tonnes to 100,000 tonnes quality container steel for Maersk about one third of the consumer's total purchase volume.

Maersk initiated in 1904 is posted in the Fortune 500 accounting for 17% share in global container shipping market.
