Steel for Shipbuilding 2008 Conference
CBI China is organizing “Steel for Shipbuilding 2008” which will take place on July 10 to July 11th 2008 at Hong Kong.
As shipbuilding Industry is rapidly updated worldwide in light of fast growing economic globalization and international trading. Countries make all efforts to exploit ocean resources, leading to stable and high demand in the world ship building market.
In 2007, both new and current ship building orders hit new highs, so did global ship plate consumption and much higher demand for heavy plate in the coming years and in a way has triggered increase in production of SBQ plates by many mills especially in China.
2008 could also see big changes in international ship building market as world ship building center is moving toward the east, brewing an industrial structure reform and upgrade.
Development of international ship building industry calls for higher preciseness and standards for engineering techniques and greater diversity of plate grades. It means both challenges and opportunities for ship steel producers. An interactive and co developing relationship between steel and ship building industries is necessary for a win-win strategic partnership.
The main focus of “Steel for Shipbuilding 2008” is to share views on market prospect and regional developing strategies together with leading steel and ship makers from Korea, EU, China, Japan, Russia, CIS, India, America, Brazil and Middle East, etc. It is expected that most of the major plate mills will be present at the conference.
