Huaneng investing in coal transshipping base in Guangdong

It is reported that Huaneng Power International Inc has recently inked an agreement on investing CNY 7.6 billion to install two power generating units and build a coal transshipping base in the eastern part of Guangdong province, South China.

Of the total investment, CNY 6.5 billion is earmarked for the No.3 and No.4 generating units of Huaneng Haimen Power Plant and CNY 1.1 billion for the Haimen coal transshipping base project.

The coal transshipping base is expected to be capable of unloading 22 million tonnes of coal annually. Apart from providing coal for Haimen power plant, the base will also serve as a coal transshipping center to satisfy the demand for coal in inland area of the eastern part of Guangdong province.
