It is reported that Chongqing Steel announced Wednesday night that the company will put the newly built 4100mm wide & heavy plate mill into production on September 24th.
As an important medium plate producer in China, Chongqing Steel will improve its market occupation ratio and competitiveness, since the new line will bring in new high value-added products to the west region of China.
A per report the company decided to invest CNY 1.9 billion in launching 4100mm wide & heavy plate mill project on September 18th 2007. The project is designed to be built into 1.3 million tonne per year capacity of 1500mm to 3800mm wide & heavy plates.
The project started in 2007was expected to be finished in 2009 after 22 months and the payback period was estimated to be 7.16 years.
