Pearl Dubai announced the completion of concrete raft pouring at the development's Tower 2.
It said that this marks Dubai Pearl's achievement of a key construction milestone with the installation of 3 of the Middle East's largest rafts on towers 1, 2 and 3.
Mr Al Habtoor Leighton contractors for the project utilized a 300 plus workforce in each work shift over 2 working days to deliver the 11,000 cubic meters raft. 10 pumps and 1,200 truckloads of concrete reinforcements were poured into the 8.07 meters excavation. Installation of the three rafts will allow commencement of works on the super structure for towers 1 and 2 over the next few days.
About 44,000 cubic meters of concrete will be poured into the foundation of the 4 tower project in addition to utilizing more than 10,000 tonnes of steel reinforcements on the towers. Located opposite The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Pearl is a major mixed use development and will also feature a 1,800 seater performing arts theatre.
