ArcelorMittal has confirmed that they were studying the plan to expand the capacity of their three mills in Brazil, Monlevade, Juiz de Fora and Cariacica.
In fact, Monlevade has begun its work to expand its annual output of crude steel to 2.4 million tonnes. It also said that the ArcelorMittal Inox was also considering expanding the capacity to produce the stainless steel and silicon steel.
ArcelorMittal holds an optimistic attitude towards the Brazilian steel market. It believes that thanks to the domestic projects like oil exploration, infrastructure construction and international events like the World Cup in 2014, the Olympic in 2016, the steel demand will definitely soar up.
