Interfax reported that Surgutneftegas has won the auction on rights to the Maloperevalny section in Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district.
The auction was held on October 15th. Surgutneftegas won with a bid of RUB 464.200 million.
The Maloperevalny section covers over 470 square kilometers in the Nadym district. A total of 250 kilometers of seismic surveying has been performed in the license territory. In addition, five wells were drilled. They were subsequently abandoned.
The section includes the Maloperevalnoye oil field with state registered recoverable reserves totaling 6.929 million tonnes (C1) and 12.411 million tonnes (C2) as of January 1, 2008.
