It is reported that 20 members of the Canada Korea Business Association visited Gwangyang Works on October 26th 2009 as a part of its annual delegation visit to Korea.
The CKBC members looked around POSCO's production facilities in Gwangyang, including the ore terminal, the number 5 furnace and the hot rolling plant, and they were especially interested in the balancing and smelting processes.
The visitors said that they were deeply impressed by the high quality, eco-friendly production facilities at POSCO. They also showed great interest in promoting multilateral friendship and understanding between Korea and Canada.
Established to promote trade, mutual investment, and technological exchange between the two countries by creating a friendly environment for all involved, the organization covers business figures from both Korea and Canada, including employees of POSCO-Canada. Its major activities include holding business forums, sponsoring scholarships for students who study Korean language and culture in British Columbia, and organizing meetings for Korean politicians and business figures.
