Inspection Certificate - ICE

The Inspection Certificate is issue by a third party inspection agency of the goods prior to shipment. It is often a required document for letter of credit negotiation.
Definition of a Inspection Certificate
A certificate, usually by an independent third party, when inspection is called for in the merchandise contract.
Purpose of a Inspection Certificate
Written certification of the inspection by a party other than the seller. Buyer and Seller can arrange for a third party to inspect goods before shipment and / or after delivery. Usually a mutually known commercial inspection company is specified, and instructions what to inspect is stipulated in either the Purchase Order or Letter of Credit required documents.
Process for the Inspection Certificate
The Inspection Certificate is obtained from the inspecting agency.
The inspection Certificate is included in the negotiable document set.
